Biking New Ground: CNH Industrial Employees in Belgium and Italy Challenged to Cycle to Work
In September, CNH Industrial employees across Belgium and Italy were challenged to travel to work using only one form of transport: their bicycles. The program, entitled ‘Biking New Ground’, coincided with European Sustainable Mobility Week and encouraged them to get active, push themselves physically and make a positive environmental impact.
The company has committed to planting one tree for every registered participant, aiming to grow the full CNH Industrial Forest. This aim has been made possible by Treedom – an organization that enables people to plant trees remotely and follow their entire growth path online. Across the week, an incredible 660 new trees were added.
Leading the charge as honorary captain of the Biking New Ground team was Italian ultra-cyclist Paola Gianotti, a four-time Guinness World Record Holder who is the fastest woman to have circumnavigated the planet by bicycle. Her 10 maxims for pedalling beyond one’s limits were printed onto t-shirts given to participants and ensured that employees remained inspired to make a sustainable difference.
