Black & Veatch CIO Irvin Bishop Jr. Recognized As ITSMF's Technology Executive of the Year Among Large Companies
Information Technology Senior Management Forum recognition marks latest honor for executive vice president
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., May 19, 2022 /3BL Media/ – Irvin Bishop Jr., a Black & Veatch executive vice president serving as the global critical human infrastructure leader’s chief information officer, has been named the Information Technology Senior Management Forum’s “technology executive of the year” among large businesses with at least 1,000 employees.
Bishop, who joined Black & Veatch in 2020, said he is humbled and motivated by the honor from the 26-year-old ITSMF, the premier national organization dedicated exclusively to cultivating executive talent among Black technology professionals.
“Being recognized by industry peers is deeply humbling, most notably because this fellowship of professionals remains devoted to advancing opportunities for African-American leaders,” said Bishop, who earlier this year joined the Forbes Technology Council. “This award will serve as a catalyst for me to continue striving to make a difference as a digital innovator and further the ITSMF’s mission of recruiting and nurturing tomorrow’s technology professionals.”
A proven global leader in digital transformation, digital optimization and digital marketing, Bishop came to Black & Veatch after guiding numerous omnichannel platforms and solutions for iconic brands. As head of IT-digital marketing for Coca-Cola, he led promotions for campaigns such as the FIFA World Cup, the Olympics and the Super Bowl. Bishop also has successfully driven business performance and growth in both start-up and Fortune 50 corporate environments through the delivery of transformational digital initiatives.
As CIO, Bishop leads a Black & Veatch team of global technology experts who provide the company’s global workforce with the tools, technologies and the thought leadership needed to offer world-class solutions and services to clients. Bishop also serves on the company’s leadership team as an internal change champion dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion.
