Black & Veatch, Oncor Consulting Launch Passport™ Certification Program to Enhance Workplace, Commercial Property Safety
Certification effort will leverage Black & Veatch’s COVID-19 services suite as a platform to provide new facility, population health solutions to commercial property, franchise owners and education sites
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., December 8, 2020 /3BL Media/ – There’s a need to forge alliances and working groups to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact. Oncor Consulting is among those leading the charge, collaborating with Black & Veatch through their health and safety solutions alliance to deliver a holistic approach to managing population health and creating healthy spaces to work and learn.
The Passport Certification Program by Oncor – a consultancy owned and led by physicians – will use the COVOPERATE™ digital platform as one part of its program components to deliver customized learning modules, testing and managing the user’s comprehension of the most relevant, locally updated medical information. Additionally, Passport will use the digital platform for collection and management of a daily occupancy health questionnaire, assist in managing occupancy limits and provide contact tracing data when an exposure is detected.
By becoming Passport certified, organizations achieve a competitive advantage by ensuring occupants that their facilities have adopted the necessary health and safety systems and protocols. In addition to COVOPERATE, Black & Veatch and its health and safety alliance will support additional certification services such as environmental inspection and engineering services, virus testing and vaccine administration utilizing its Rapid Modular Health System (RaMHS). Properties that complete the Passport certification process will have the ability to display a “Passport Certified” emblem at their entry points and use it in communicating the health and safety of their properties for a designated period.
"Businesses across the country are struggling to provide an environment that enables individuals to return to normal day-to-day business, retail and educational activities,” said Scott Shapiro, a medical doctor and Oncor Consulting’s CEO. Since the outbreak began, “many experts confidently have declared the death of the physical office, believing employees no longer will trust their workspaces. We disagree with that prediction and have partnered with Black & Veatch and their health and safety alliance to create a unique solution that truly integrates the application of the best medical, digital, engineering, process and safety thinking – a population health solution to create healthy spaces."
Based in Pennsylvania, Oncor is debuting Passport first to property management and franchise owners, among those greatly impacted by the coronavirus-related downsizing of the office and retail footprint. The program will then be introduced to universities to help manage returning students and educators to campus.
“We are excited to partner with Oncor Consulting to support the launch of the Passport Certification Program,” said David Price, Chief Technology Officer for Black & Veatch Management Consulting. “Our best-in-class health and safety alliance gives us the ability to customize and deliver the necessary services to support building a new level of confidence that tenants, consumers and students are now expecting.”
