Bombardier Supports Educational Establishments Affected by Flooding with 40,600 Euro
July 12, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation donated 40,600 euro in support of educational establishments affected by flooding near its Bautzen and Görlitz sites in Germany. Bombardier employees raised 15,600 euro, with Bombardier’s management contributing a further 25,000 euro, totalling 40,600 euro.
Together with the site management and the works council in Bautzen and Görlitz and in accordance with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, Bombardier selected three institutions for support in terms of building repairs and the re-acquisition of school and working materials. Donations were made to “Veensmännel” Integrative DRK Daycare Centre in Ostritz and the vocational school in Zittau, both near Görlitz, and to Halbendorf outdoor learning centre in Malschwitz, near Bautzen.
The commitment of the employees and management of Bombardier in this fundraising effort for the flood-affected regions of Bautzen and Görlitz exemplifies Bombardier’s approach of contributing in support of communities in which the company is commercially active.
