Bombardier Supports Uttarakhand Flood Victims in India

June 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Bombardier Transportation today announced an extension of its support to the victims of flash floods and heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, a state in the north of India.

Bombardier is making a financial contribution and encourages its employees to help Indian citizens affected by the floods following the outreach by All India Congress Committee Chairperson, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, and the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh.

The company is donating an amount equivalent to three days net salary of all Bombardier Transportation India white-collar employees directly to the Prime Minister National Relief Fund.

Bombardier has also requested its employees in India support the victims by donating key items including food, sanitation facilities, medicines, utensils, toiletries, books and stationery items.

Benoit Cattin-Martel, Managing Director Bombardier Transportation India, said: “As a responsible corporate citizen Bombardier is committed to contribute to local communities and the well-being of their citizens. Each contribution, however small, will help a larger cause and particularly the flood victims in the Uttarakhand region.”
