Jacques Perrin, actor, producer, and director, Galatée Film Productions, Oceans: Perrin first became known to French and international mainstream audiences as an actor. A worldwide hit, Z won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1970. This was the start of a fruitful partnership with Costa-Gavras, with whom Perrin produced State of Siege (1973) and Special Section (1975), both of which were nominated for Golden Globes. For several years, Perrin devoted himself to producing and directing Winged Migration, a 2001 documentary about birds migrating around the world, which he codirected with Jacques Cluzaud and Michel Debats. After four years of filming in 50 different locations, Oceans was released in 2010 in France and the United States. Almost 12 million viewers worldwide have seen the film, which Perrin codirected with Cluzaud. His production company, Galatée Films, is pursuing many new projects, including Seasons, a naturalistic film that the team is scheduled to start shooting soon.
