When you think of a sustainable business, what first comes to mind? More importantly, what do you think of when someone mentions a non-sustainable business? Too often business perceptions become reality and the wrong perception can prove costly. For this reason, we often ask executives if they know what their stakeholders are really saying about their company. 

Reviewing a recent study, Navigating the Product Mindset, our sustainability consulting practice finds that more than 90 percent of manufacturers surveyed felt confident that they were ahead of the curve in delivering safety, reliability and sustainability. However, over 65% of consumers believe manufacturers have not taken enough steps to ensure that their production follows environmental procedures and 70% felt the companies placing the end-product on the shelf did not conduct thorough testing before launching the new products.
