Business Sustainability: Resource Constraint or Value Add?

Do you think that business sustainability is something already existing within your business or do you think that it's another add on function, external to the business that is going to be resource intensive?  

It's sort of the same question as job seekers wanting a green job.  There's the misconception that a title with a defined green job description makes the positions role and impact green.  It doesn't.  Every job is green, depending on how you approach it.  And, for any job to be considered having a sustainable element to it, a candidate has to have basic business knowledge and functionality in a business environment as a basis for sustainability concepts to thrive.   Much like a business has to be profitable for it to meet a basic definition of business sustainability: profit, people, and planet.   Getting back to the original question, sustainability is already in a business on some level - it's just to what degree and incentives.
