BVU Leads Northeast Ohio In Pro Bono Week
Cleveland, Ohio, October 9, 2013 /3BL Media/ -- BVU: The Center for Nonprofit Excellence, an organization that links business volunteers with nonprofit organizations, is participating in Pro Bono Week (October 20th – 26th). BVU will build awareness and lead Northeast Ohio’s pro bono initiative. Taproot Foundation is convening intermediaries like BVU to take part in Pro Bono Week which is a celebration of the global pro bono movement.
During Pro Bono Week, BVU will conduct a nonprofit blitz, visiting with local nonprofits to scope and define high-impact, skills-based pro bono projects to engage professionals from the business community in the areas of HR, technology, finance, marketing and process improvement.
BVU will partner with the Young Leaders of Forest City Enterprises to launch their pro bono volunteer program. During this event, recipients of recent pro bono projects and business volunteers will share their experiences hoping to ignite the spirit of volunteerism. BVU plans to highlight the successful pro bono efforts of its business partners during this week.
BVU: The Center for Nonprofit Excellence, located in Northeast Ohio, serves as a catalyst to engage employees at 120 businesses with over 950 nonprofits each year. Since 1993 BVU has worked to engage skilled volunteers in critical pro bono projects throughout the Greater Cleveland/Akron area providing much needed skills and expertise. Through the efforts of BVU’s Pro Bono Corps, hundreds of nonprofits are able to deliver programming and services to meet the needs of the community.
