Caesars Foundation Continues Support for Communities Nationwide Giving Nearly A Million Dollars in Third Quarter

LAS VEGAS, September 18, 2014 /3BL Media/Extending its dedication to the diverse communities in which Caesars Entertainment operates, Caesars Foundation is pleased to announce the approval of 16 grants totaling nearly $1 million dollars at the third quarter meeting. Caesars Foundation is funded by operating income and gifts from Caesars Entertainment and its resort properties. Grants were approved in Caesars Foundation’s strategic areas of focus including its emphasis on older individuals, along with education, health, gaming and sustainability.

Organizations receiving funding include: American Diabetes Association in New Orleans, La; Big Brothers Big Sisters in Las Vegas, Nev.; Catholic Schools Foundation in Boston, Mass.; Don Bosco Senior Center in Kansas City, Miss; First Place for Youth in Oakland, Calif.; Liberty’s Kitchen in New Orleans, La.; Lou Ruvo Center in Las Vegas, Nev.; MANNA Food Bank in Cherokee, N.C.; National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tenn.; Rose Brooks Center in Kansas City, Miss.; Special Olympics in Las Vegas, Nev.; The Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise (PRIME) in the United Kingdom; Touro University in Las Vegas, Nev. and Vegas PBS in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Foundation also granted $150,000 to National Center for Responsible Gaming to aid the organization in funding research that helps increase understanding of pathological and youth gambling and find effective methods of treatment for the disorder; and a $150,000 grant to long time partner Clean The World, an organization devoted to collecting and distributing hygiene products to impoverished people to prevent deaths caused by hygiene-related illnesses.
