CECP and ECOSOC Plan Special Joint Program Focusing on MDG2, Universal Primary Education
Taking place on International Corporate Philanthropy Day, Feb. 28, 2011
(3BLMedia/TheCSRfeed) January 25, 2011 - On International Corporate Philanthropy Day, held on February 28, 2011, CECP will partner with the United Nations for a special program, attended by up to 500 representatives from the nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors. This year, the UN program will focus on Millenium Development Goal 2, regarding commitments to Universal Primary Education. Following an opening plenary session, attendees will discuss:
1. Enabling access for children, both boys and girls alike, to a full course of primary schooling; and
2. Promoting education and training in the world of work
This event creates a platform where CECP, the United Nations, and other participating organizations can discuss the role of the philanthropic community in promoting education for all.
