Celebrating Earth Day, Every Day
April 22 is Earth Day, a time when we join the global celebration of preserving our environment. At Comcast NBCUniversal that celebration continues throughout the year with our commitment to Sustainability.
One of the ways we bring this to life is through the work of our employees, families and community partners who are helping us reach our goal to contribute 500,000 environmentally-friendly volunteer hours by 2020 by participating in local community improvement activities year-round and on Comcast Cares Day. On May 4, we’ll be officially marking the 18th annual Comcast Cares Day, where we roll up our sleeves and participate in thousands of green service projects that include transforming parks, gardens and outdoor spaces in communities across the country and around the world.
One of our partners on Comcast Cares Day is Bartram’s Garden in our hometown of Philadelphia. It works with local community members and families to produce and distribute more than 15,000 pounds of food each year from their Sankofa Community Farm.
Al Roker of TODAY and Comcast NBCUniversal Chief Sustainability Officer Susan Jin Davis visited Bartram’s Garden to discuss the great work they’re doing and how it aligns with Comcast NBCUniversal’s Sustainability goals.
