Practical Approaches to Becoming a 21st Century Sustainable Corporation: Implementing the Ceres Roadmap
(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) Boston, MA - September 9, 2010 - Ceres and EPA Climate Leaders will map out expectations for a sustainable corporation in the 21st century in an upcoming webinar being held Tuesday, September 14, from 1 to 2 p.m. EST. The webinar, entitled “The 21st Century Corporation: The Ceres Roadmap for Sustainability,” is free of cost and open to the public.
The Ceres Roadmap provides a practical guide for integrating sustainability into the DNA of business – from boardrooms to copy rooms and across entire supply chains. It calls for significant performance improvements from companies by 2020. Among the improvements, the report calls for leading companies to reduce GHG emissions by 25 percent from 2005 to 2020 and improve energy efficiency by at least 50 percent.
The webinar will discuss how companies can use the Ceres Roadmap to help move toward a more sustainable economy and look at a case study on climate change and reducing GHG emissions. The webinar will also feature a representative from EMC Corporation who will discuss how the company is using the Roadmap to assess performance, identify gaps in performance, and start to implement concrete next steps to reduce its own GHG emissions.
Speakers include:
• Andrea Moffat, Senior Director of Corporate Programs, Ceres
• Kathrin Winkler, Vice President of Corporate Sustainability, EMC Corporation
A question and answer session with the featured speakers will be held.
