Cerro Verde, a Freeport-McMoRan Company, Sponsors a Free Health Fair
November 22, 2016 /3BL Media/ - Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde recently hosted a health fair for residents of the district of Yarabamba in Peru and surrounding communities.
The Cerro Verde Mining Company partnered with the Municipal District of Yarabamba, the Ministry of Health, the Municipal Children and Adolescent Defenders (DEMUNA) and The Business Service Center (CESEM).
Medical specialists such as pediatricians, geriatricians, gynecologists and dentists were available to provide preventive medical services and information.
Medical care was free and attendees received information on nutrition, family planning, cancer and other disease prevention, addiction recovery, obesity and other topics.
There were handwashing demonstrations for children and information available regarding the rights and protections available to children and adolescents.
