The Climate Declaration Hits Broadway…
BOSTON, October 25, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Starting this week, the Climate Declaration’s message that “tackling climate change is America’s greatest economic opportunity of the 21st century” will be showcased on the CBS Jumbotron on 42nd street in New York City’s Times Square for the next three months.
The brief clip provides three economic proof points that national action on climate change can create jobs and save energy costs, citing examples of green buildings, renewable energy technology and fuel-efficient cars. The ad ends with an impressive cascade of logos of many of the major corporations that have endorsed the Climate Declaration.
Ceres was invited by CBS to create the ad showcasing the Climate Declaration and to use the prime space at a greatly reduced rate.
The goal of the Climate Declaration is to demonstrate broad-based business support for national action on climate change across vast sectors of the economy. It has been signed by more than 700 companies from a diverse array of sectors and industries, including Microsoft, Owens Corning, General Motors, the Portland Trail Blazers and Mars, Inc.
“The process of tackling climate change creates economic opportunities that we can not afford to miss,” said Anne Kelly, Director of Policy and of BICEP for Ceres. “We’re thrilled that the hundreds of thousands of people walking through Times Square each day will see the bold truth in lights and ideally get on board.”
The ad concludes with a reminder that “700 Companies Agree” and directs viewers to join them at www.climatedeclaration.us. View the 15-second ad here
