CNH Industrial Environment Day - Only One Earth
With the Company’s projects, technology and research applied to sustainability, CNH Industrial puts into practice concrete actions for a better future here, at home, on our Planet.
CNH Industrial Foundation – Feeding America®
An app to bridge a food gap in the US
In partnership with Feeding America®, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization, CNH Industrial is helping growers easily donate agricultural products that might not be sold and otherwise go to waste through the free MealConnect app. Beyond over $200K USD in funds from the CNH Industrial Foundation, the Company also plans to promote the app with customers, bringing technology and people together to reduce food waste and hunger.
Since the app’s launch in August 2021, +73% of users and +27% of total produce sourced.
Stubble burning prevention
Technology upgrades to improve air quality in India
Stubble burning, which is understood to be one of the leading causes of air pollution in India, contributes up to 40% to particulate matter in the Northern Plains region, and emits a large amount of toxic pollutants into the environment. CNH Industrial India, in collaboration with national institutions, is providing agricultural equipment together with financial and technical support to develop a holistic solution for straw and crop residue management.
In 2021, a total of 4,836 tons of paddy straw was baled rather than burnt, cutting CO2 emissions by 7,326 tons.
Smart Farm
Smart and sustainable in Italy
Building on its Energy Independent Farm concept, in 2021 CNH Industrial’s New Holland agricultural brand introduced the first “Smart Farm” at its customer Il Raccolto, an agricultural collective in Italy. The farm runs a connected fleet of machines and collects agronomic data through telematics, demonstrating the full usage of our brand’s PLM digital tools. This partnership will be key to understanding how technology can enhance other innovative on-farm systems, such as anaerobic digesters, and methane-powered tractors, to create a truly circular, energy-independent model.
100% energy independent farm with own BioGas and future Biomethane production
Water conservation
Together, and counting every drop in Brazil
The “Cada Gota Conta” (Every Drop Counts) contest is now in full swing in Curitiba, Brazil. In 2021, CNH Industrial’s plant launched this important water consumption contest to encourage employees to reduce water usage at home. In the first edition, entries were submitted detailing a number of simple actions, such as reducing the length of showers and reusing rainwater for cleaning, that resulted in total savings of 59,000 liters of water. This campaign is just one of a number of initiatives the plant has undertaken since 2017 to achieve a 48% reduction in its water consumption.
