CNH Industrial Supports Local Communities for the Brazilian Winter
With the arrival of winter in Brazil, once again CNH Industrial demonstrated the power of unity, mobilization and solidarity. May saw the launch of the Winter Solidarity Campaign, during which the company and employees collected warm clothing, blankets, food, hygiene and cleaning materials for donation to social institutions that develop activities for homeless people and families at social risk in the states of Minas Gerais, Paraná and São Paulo. For every kilo of items given by an employee, CNH Industrial added another kilo in basic baskets and therefore an impressive total of over 2,800 kg of items and 260 basic baskets were donated.
Donating to the local community at such a critical time is not new for CNH Industrial and its employees. There is an annual tradition of CNH Industrial employees collecting clothing for those at social risk during winter and last year, CNH Industrial supported a similar Food and Hygiene Drive. Now, CNH Industrial makes sure to mobilize all its plants in Brazil, which become collection points to offer resources for the surrounding communities.
The distributions of donations will be made by local charities and organisations such as The Association of Residents of Bairro Novo Progresso (Contagem/MG); The Social Action Foundation (Curitiba/PR); The Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Development (Piracicaba); The Christã Association of Full Assistance, The São Vicente de Paulo Home, the Gold Institute and the Bola da Vez Institute (Sorocaba/SP).
Reflecting on the merits of the campaign, Alexandre Leite, Manufacturing Operations Manager, CNH Industrial Brazil, said "it is always very good to be able to be part of and encourage the participation of our team in campaigns such as Winter Solidarity. The benefits are not just for those who are being supported. During the mobilization for the campaign, in addition to exercising empathy, we have the opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship, trust and unity in the team. In the end, everyone wins."
