College Park Sees Success with Culture Initiative

Alexion’s culture is rooted in integrity, inclusiveness, and our dedication to joining and supporting the communities in which we live and work. In a continuous effort to advance our people and our company, colleagues at our College Park manufacturing facility in Dublin, Ireland, launched an initiative to enhance the culture at their site. Employees were asked to share ideas and suggestions for programs that support Alexion’s culture values as well as its social responsibility platform. The response was overwhelming and “Culture @ College Park” was born. 

Based on the feedback collected, Culture @ College Park launched with a focus on four key areas: patient support, giving back to the community, sustaining the environment, and developing employees. It has been nearly two years since the initiative began and the team in Dublin has made tremendous progress building programs in each of these areas. In fact, more than 65 projects have been completed to-date and a number of new programs are underway, including those that support diversity and inclusion, provide STEM education for local students, reduce the site’s carbon footprint, and drive innovation for patients through employee education.

Further underscoring the success of the initiative, Alexion’s College Park site was recently named Best Workplace at the Fingal Dublin Business Excellence & CSR Awards 2019 for the programs established through Culture @ College Park. We are proud of the employees at that site for their dedication to making Alexion the most rewarding company to work for.
