Every year, Pro Bono Week serves as an amazing opportunity for those of us in this field to come together with a strong, collective voice and shine a light on the impact and importance of pro bono service. And never has the need for pro bono been more apparent. Nonprofits and other social good organizations are confronted daily with the challenge of meeting the increasing demand of critical social issues amidst declining charitable giving. 

This year, our voices are joined by leaders from the philanthropic community. In a watershed moment for the sector, these foundations amplified the important message that the true cost of nonprofits’ crucial work includes the business infrastructure they need to achieve their missions. It is when we come together in this way—acting in unison as part of a broader ecosystem supporting the nonprofit sector—that we can create more change by helping strengthen the organizations that are taking on society’s greatest challenges. And pro bono service is uniquely able to achieve that multiplier effect by increasing organizations’ capacity for impact.

During Pro Bono Week 2019, we are celebrating that ecosystem—from the nonprofit professionals on the frontlines serving critical community needs to the funders, business professionals, and companies who are helping strengthen the organizations that address them.
