Countdown To Comcast Cares Day: 100 Days

Jan 21, 2016 1:30 PM ET

In 100 days, Comcast NBCUniversal will celebrate its 15th annual Comcast Cares Day, the culmination of the company’s year-round commitment to improving communities through service.

To begin the countdown, take a look back at five ways Comcast Cares Day volunteers made change happen last year:

  1. We improved schools. One out of every eight of our 900-plus projects occurred at a neighborhood school, helping students to learn in a richer environment.

  2. We partnered for impact. Together with leading national nonprofit organizations including Boys & Girls Clubs of America, City Year, National Urban League, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, National Council of La Raza, we supported nearly 200 projects in communities big and small.

  3. We mobilized young people. One out of every five of our record 100,000 volunteers was under the age of 18, reminding us that Comcast Cares Day is a family affair and a great way to teach young people the importance of giving back at an early age.

  4. We fed our neighbors in need. One out of every five of our 900-plus projects supported local food programs.

  5. We surpassed a service milestone. Since 2001, Comcast Cares Day volunteers have given more than 4 million service hours to improve our communities.

Save the date to join us on April 30, 2016.
