Countdown To Comcast Cares Day: 100 Days
From boxing donated food to mentoring kids about technology, our employees volunteer year-round to make a difference in their communities.
On April 22, 2017, we will celebrate that commitment through Comcast Cares Day as more than 100,000 Comcast NBCUniversal volunteers join together to make change happen across the country and around the world.
Comcast Cares Day has grown to become the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer event. In 2016, a record 108,000 volunteers improved more than 930 parks, schools, beaches, senior centers and other vital community sites in 21 countries during the 15th anniversary of Comcast Cares Day. Since 2001, more than 800,000 Comcast NBCUniversal employees, their friends, family members and our community partners have volunteered nearly 5 million service hours at more than 7,700 projects in communities across the United States and around the world.
Comcast Cares Day is a chance for us to not only give back, but to also teach our children the value of volunteering as families work together side by side. Last year, one out of every five Comcast Cares Day volunteers was under the age of 18. We demonstrate our dedication to youth in our volunteer projects as well. For example, last year our volunteers helped improve 161 schools, with the goal of improving the learning environment so students can pursue their education with added enthusiasm.
To make the greatest difference we can, we are pleased to partner with many great organizations that join with us painting, mowing, scrubbing, stocking, building, creating and so much more. Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the National Urban League, the National Council of La Raza, and Easterseals are all instrumental in the success of Comcast Cares Day. So save the date to join us this year and be part of the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort.
