CR Magazine Reveals 15th Annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List
April 24, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Corporate Responsibility Magazine announced today its 15th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List, recognizing the standout performance of public companies across the United States.
The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List documents 298 data points of disclosure and performance measures—harvested from publicly available information in seven categories: environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance, and philanthropy. The list ranks the Russell 1000 Index.
“We’re pleased to honor the 100 Best Corporate Citizens for meeting the highest commitment to the programming and transparency necessary to lead the business community in the area of responsible corporate practices,” said Bill Hatton, Editor-in-Chief of CR Magazine.
Additionally some interesting statistics from this year’s list include:
- 23 companies are on the 2014 list that were not on the 2013 list
- 17 companies have been on the list every year since 2008
- 33 companies rose an average of 20 ranks
- 42 companies fell an average of 17 ranks
The top ten on the 2014 list include (in rank order): Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Johnson & Johnson, Gap Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Mattel Inc., Weyerhaeuser Co., Ecolab, Inc., Intel Corp., Coca-Cola Co., and Walt Disney Co.
