Creators Wanted Tour
National Association of Manufacturers & Trane Technologies Bring First-of-Its-K…
Charlotte, N.C., November 16, 2021 /3BL Media/ - The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Trane Technologies and The Manufacturing Institute, the workforce development and education partner of the NAM, are bringing the industry’s national Creators Wanted campaign to Charlotte, North Carolina, this week. The Creators Wanted Tour Live, will be hosted at Central Piedmont Community College from Tuesday, Nov. 16, through Friday, Nov. 19 and will highlight the need for talent and rewarding career opportunities within advanced manufacturing. Students, educators, policymakers and community leaders will have an opportunity to visit the tour’s immersive, escape room–style experience.
“The manufacturing industry is constantly evolving to meet the demands of the times—and right now is no different. For example, the industry is driving innovative solutions to resolving climate and sustainability challenges while also developing lifesaving medical breakthroughs. But we need the people—the creators—to make that possible,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “We are committed to highlighting the incredible opportunities in manufacturing to the next generation of creators. We want to reach people in all communities and from all backgrounds so we can create an opportunity economy for all Americans.”
A variety of events will be held all week, including small-group tours of the mobile experience, which is enhanced with augmented reality viewing equipment provided by PTC, for students and afterschool programs. Additional activities include a manufacturing career fair and a “Creators” panel led by local manufacturing team members relating their career journeys.
“Manufacturers have nearly one million open jobs to fill across America, and this number is only expected to grow. The Creators Wanted tour is designed to showcase career pathways and opportunities for ongoing growth and development in advanced manufacturing, and the many ways creators can change the world,” said NAM Board Chair and Trane Technologies Executive Chair Mike Lamach. “Companies like Trane Technologies can offer meaningful career options for students, displaced workers, and people who have been historically under-served, such as racial and ethnic minorities, which is why we are especially proud to bring this unique experience to Charlotte.”
“When young people have the chance to see how they can truly change the world through a career in manufacturing, their eyes are opened to new possibilities for their lives,” said MI Executive Director Carolyn Lee. “We are grateful to work with companies like Trane Technologies that are committed to enacting positive changes around the globe and know this tour stop will be an inspiring experience for all who participate.”
