Cricket Wireless and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to Give Families a Reason to Smile During “12 Days of Cricket”
Cricket Wireless and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to Give Families a Reason to…
ATLANTA, November 13, 2020 /3BL Media/ -
What’s the news? Cricket Wireless and Boys & Girls Clubs of America have teamed-up to give families a reason to smile this holiday season through Cricket’s annual “12 Days of Cricket” giving campaign. The campaign, which starts today, World Kindness Day, will surprise Boys & Girls Club families across the country with up to $5,000 to help meet critical needs.
Why is this important? This year has resulted in extreme hardship for many families as the country grapples with the pandemic and record unemployment. Cricket Wireless and Boys & Girls Clubs of America want to make a difference in the lives of families by providing gifts and financial support to help overcome the economic hurdles standing in the way of their health and happiness.
“For 160 years, Boys & Girls Clubs have stepped up to support kids during times of crisis and this year is no different. Our youth and their families are facing challenges like no other,” said Jim Clark, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “We are so thankful to Cricket Wireless for supporting our mission, especially during this holiday season. Boys & Girls Club families across the country are in for a surprise, and it will be a moment they will never forget.”
Why is Cricket Involved? These efforts are part of Cricket's corporate social responsibility program. Cricket cares about building healthy human connections for happier youth. Through initiatives like this, Cricket supports young people and their families by fostering kindness, encouraging healthy mobile habits, and providing resources to help them overcome challenging times.
“This has been a year of unprecedented hardship for many," said John Dwyer, president, Cricket Wireless. "By joining forces with Boys & Girls Clubs, we hope these gifts give them something to smile about this holiday season and the opportunity to focus on what matters most – spending time with each other."
The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of America is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Clubs across the country have suffered financial strains that have limited their ability to fulfill their mission.
To help alleviate the financial stress Boys & Girls Clubs are experiencing, Cricket Wireless and Boys & Girls Clubs of America are participating in a Facebook program centered around Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2020. We invite you to show support for Boys & Girls Clubs of America by starting a fundraiser on Facebook.
How Does it Work? Starting on Nov. 13, 2020, anyone can start a Facebook fundraiser to support Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Cricket Wireless will donate $10 (for up to 15,000 campaigns). The campaign will end on Dec. 1, which is Giving Tuesday. 100% of funds raised will go to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Contributions will help make a difference and contribute towards the health and happiness of these young people.
Get started today by going to www.facebook.com/fundraisers to create your fundraiser and Cricket will donate the first $10 to help reach your goal. (Just make sure you’re one of the first 15,000 to get started)
