Cyber Resiliency For Non Profits: Event in Los Angeles
Time Warner Cable Teams with Symantec, FBI to Education NGOs
LOS ANGELES, March 24, 2014 /3BL Media/ — Time Warner Cable will host its first Cyber Resiliency event on March 27, featuring a guest speaker from the FBI as well as Peter Marx, Chief Information Officer, City of Los Angeles, and other cyber security experts. The day-long workshop, held in partnership with Time Warner Cable Business Class, the Symantec Security Technology and Response (STAR) Team and the Citadel Information Group, will bring together community organizations from throughout Southern California to discuss how nonprofit groups can reduce risks to their organizations and build cyber resiliency.
The Cyber Resiliency Project for Nonprofits is Time Warner Cable’s innovative approach to raise risk awareness for nonprofits, and provide concrete action steps to protect their business and deliver on their mission. The event focuses on data privacy and information security for nonprofit clients, donors and employees. With the move into an increasingly digital world, cyber threats abound, and nonprofit organizations holding client, donor, and employee data could be devastated by an attack if not informed and properly prepared. Time Warner Cable is convening a select group of nonprofits to discuss how to build action plans to minimize the risks of a cyber-attack.
Hosted at the Skirball Cultural Center, the Time Warner Cable event will include presentations by experts in the cyber resiliency space, including a keynote presentation by a special agent from the FBI, as well as sessions for discussing best practices and building a cybersecurity action plan for implementation.
Time Warner Cable is committed to investing in local communities with events such as this one and many others by connecting nonprofits and other organizations with the resources needed to carry out their missions. To see the invitation, click here.
