Diabetes Awareness Month
Diabetes Awareness Month aims to raise awareness for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes through education and advocacy. More than 100 million adults and children in the U.S. currently live with diabetes or prediabetes. The focus of this year’s Diabetes Awareness Month is on the link between diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Diabetes National Research Group - Supports research aimed at the discovery and development of innovative methods to treat and possibly cure diabetes. In addition, the Diabetes National Research Group educates the public and increases public awareness of diabetes and associated conditions.
Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation - Funds scientific research into treating and curing diabetes, as well as providing screenings and education programs to save lives from blindness, kidney failure, and amputations.
Diabetes Research Institute Foundation - Funds and supports research aimed at developing a biological cure by restoring natural insulin production and normalizing blood sugar levels without imposing other risks.
Lions Club International Foundation - Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world with 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs are serving communities in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the globe. Diabetes is the signature cause of Lions and Leos around the world. This year, in partnership with the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) we’re on a mission to make our mark by screening 1 million people for type 2 diabetes. Help us reach our goal by World Diabetes Day (November 14) by taking the online risk assessment or organizing a screening.
Feeding America - A nationwide network of 200 member food banks that provide food to more than 46 million people, including 12 million children and 7 million seniors, through 60,000 food pantries and meal programs and engage more than 2 million volunteers monthly in communities across the U.S. Feeding America has conducted deep research into Diabetes and focuses on nutrition to prevent Diabetes and other diseases tied to poor quality diet.
