Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) launched its 2016 Sands ECO360 Environmental Report. 2016 marks the beginning of the company’s new five-year reporting cycle with updated Sands ECO360 strategy and new ambitious 2020 sustainability goals. The company’s targets are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and LVS became the first Integrated Resort company to have their emissions reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative.
Below are a few highlights for 2016:
- The Parisian Macao was designed to be LVS’ most sustainable and energy-efficient development to date.
- The company completed 84 different energy efficiency projects globally, conserving 31 million kWh of electricity every year.
- Across all existing properties, LVS reduced the absolute emissions by 9.1%, water consumption by 5.7% and electricity consumption by 4.4% from 2015.
- The LVS team members, along with green meeting clients, completed more than 260,000 actions inspired by Sands ECO360.
