Do You Recognize These Wheels?
ANAHEIM, Calif., May 10, 2016 /3BL Media/ – As a long-time community partner, we’re proud to co-sponsor The 14 th Annual Cub Scout Pushcart Derby with the City of Garden Grove. On Saturday, April 23, 2016 the city closed several of its streets for this popular event where more than 100 Cub Scouts build and race a pushcart downhill.
Over the years, we have donated more than 5,000 recycle cart wheels to help the Cub Scouts power the pushcarts at this annual event. With wheels costing as much as $7 each, many of these kids wouldn’t have the opportunity to participate in the event if they had to purchase their own wheels. Through this unique experience, these young racers, age 6-11, learn to be responsible and to take pride in being part of a community. These are some of the same core values we embody as a Company at Republic.
This year’s organizers added a “Most Natural” category in honor of Earth Day and invited us to be a judge. We would like to thank and recognize our partners, Schaefer Systems International, who helped us make the wheels possible this year.
