Doing Good for the Community: A Look into Sands Cares INSPIRE Charity Concert 2019
The third annual INSPIRE charitable fundraiser concert, presented by Sands Cares, took place on May 24, 2019 at The Venetian Theatre and was headlined by GRAMMY Award-winning artist Kelly Clarkson. The concert raised almost $300,000 for Sands Cares Accelerator members, including the Marty Hennessy Inspiring Children Foundation and Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.
Ava Frasier, a former student at the Inspiring Children’s Foundation and current music student at Belmont University, along with 16-year-old Brynn Cartelli, winner of The Voice, opened the INSPIRE evening and the Clarkson show.
Sands Cares INSPIRE is the signature fund-raising event for the Sands Cares Accelerator Program, a community partnership in which the company makes a longer-term investment in promising nonprofit organizations that have the potential to expand service and grow with the resources of a committed corporate catalyst.
"Sands Cares INSPIRE is a do-good, feel-good opportunity for the community," said Ron Reese, senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs at Las Vegas Sands. "The chance to see someone as powerful as Kelly Clarkson in a more personal venue like The Venetian Theatre, combined with knowing your ticket purchase is going directly to helping at-risk youth, made for a remarkable evening."
“I’m excited for [our youth] to know that there are thousands of people that care about the fact that they’re in the situations they’re in and want to do something about it.” Said Arash Ghafoori, executive director of the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. Sands Cares INSPIRE was one way that Las Vegas Sands supports NPHY to help homeless youth become self-sufficient.
The Sands Cares Accelerator program is a community partnership endeavor that supports growth-stage non-profits to get to the next level of their development with seed investments and other in-kind resources provided over a three-year engagement. Organizations are invited into the program based on proven results to date and their potential for higher impact toward fulfilling their missions.

Marty Hennessy Inspiring Children Foundation (ICF)
The Marty Hennessy Inspiring Children Foundation takes at-risk youth off the streets and into greatness. The Foundation works to inspire youth by helping them create a vision for their life, where they can develop their strengths through project-driven learning, mentoring, apprenticeships, academics, and athletics. The program asks children to "earn their way" and to "discover their passions" by helping them create and execute quarterly business plans. Through this process, the leadership and character development program arms youth with a "psychology for life," using emotional intelligence and the www.jewelneverbroken.com mindfulness curriculum, that prepares them mentally, emotionally, and physically to live happy, driven and inspired lives.
