Driving Action on Healthier Lives: Key Stakeholders Gather to Accelerate Collaboration
Driving Action on Healthier Lives: Key Stakeholders Gather to Accelerate Collab…
The Consumer Goods Forum Collaboration for Healthier Lives Coalition of Action Steering Committee met in-person along with key stakeholders ATNI, BiteBack & ShareAction on the 26th October 2022 in Amsterdam. One week later, here are some key reflections.
The steering committee has the mandate to drive action and empower people to live healthier lives. The committee’s objective was to crystalise its plans for the next 3 years and Bain & Co. are leading the strategy refresh. Access, Affordability and Behaviour Change were key themes that ran throughout the meeting. This consumer centric coalition is working with NielsenIQ to ensure that we are also targeting the most vulnerable populations with interventions and programmes that work.
The Coalition of Action reviewed progress across its local CHL initiatives in China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Japan, Mexico, Turkey, UK and the US. We reiterated the importance of Employee Health and Wellbeing and the potential to impact the 10m employees of the CGF with our Workforce Nutrition Alliance and Mental Health focus.
The power of collaboration and the role the Coalition plays to support people with access to healthier, sustainable and affordable baskets is a key goal of the global movement. The coalition is mindful of the cost-of-living crisis where the needs of the consumer have changed and affordability of the product takes precedence over its nutritional value. During these turbulent times the voice of the consumers and external stakeholders is critical moving forward to make healthy products and nutritious food affordable and accessible.
In November the CHL Coalition of Action will ask the CEOs on the CGF Board to continue to accelerate action on healthier lives and take leadership to adopt our future plans for supporting employee health & wellbeing, for better communities, and healthier and more sustainable products and services in store and online.
This meeting preceded the Sustainable Retail Summit which took place from 26th – 28th October in Amsterdam.
