Eden Corner Express CITGO Donates Funds to Eden and Campbellsport Elementary Schools

EDEN, Wis., Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Local CITGO Retailer Eden Corner Express donated more than $1,200 dollars to the Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs) at Eden Elementary School and Campbellsport Elementary School. Throughout the month of October, the station held a "Penny Per Gallon" promotion where one cent from every gallon of gas pumped at the Eden Corner Express CITGO was pledged to help the schools. The funds were awarded at PTO meetings in November for each school. 

"This fundraiser really shows how a neighborhood pitching in small amounts can make a big difference," said Eden Corner Express co-supervisor Sara Herrmann. "These schools and their support systems are the backbone of our community and we love the fact that we are able to give back."

This is the third successful year of the "Penny Per Gallon" campaign and the organizers have no plans of stopping. The PTOs at Campbellsport and Eden Elementary Schools strive to enhance the education of their students by facilitating communication with teachers and supporting school activities. The two organizations support elementary schools educating a combined 770 students in kindergarten through 5^th grade.
