With remote working evolving from a perk to a necessity, it’s now just as important to recruit for flexibility in the face of change. We’ve witnessed multiple examples of resilient workforces thriving in Northern Ireland in 2020.
For instance, Georgia-based insurance company Aflac opened a technology and cybersecurity center in Belfast, the capital city, last year. Since going into lockdown, it's doubled its workforce there, hiring and on-boarding while working remotely, on track to its goal of 150 employees there over the next five years. Keith Farley, managing director of Aflac Northern Ireland, told Sync NI that Belfast's resilience, inventiveness and adaptability have been appreciated. Additionally, remote work necessitated by the pandemic has removed a distance barrier.
