Former UPS NASCAR driver Dale Jarrett discusses the importance of drivers giving back to their communities

GIVING!  What a very powerful word.  And, it’s something we all can do.  Whether we are in a position to give financially or simply giving our time to help a worthy cause, we all can and should participate in some way.  Glenn, Patti and I didn’t have to look far to find great examples of those who give back to the community and those less fortunate when we were growing up.  Our parents, Ned and Martha, have always actively contributed to many charitable organizations and events and instilled the spirit of giving in each of us.

I have also found that the NASCAR community- drivers, owners, sponsors, fans and the NASCAR organization itself- are a very generous group.  It may not always make the headlines in our sport, but many people are doing wonderful things on a daily basis.  This has always made me very proud of our sport.
