Freeport-McMoRan Safford Operations Receive Environmental Stewardship Award

February 14, 2017 /3BL Media/ - Freeport-McMoRan Safford Operations recently received the Arizona Voluntary Environmental Stewardship Award from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.

The award is part of a program that recognizes companies that go above and beyond what is required by law from an environmental perspective.

The Safford Operations have demonstrated their continued commitment to the environment and the community through their dust control and habitat conservation work. Moreover, Safford has a robust emissions reduction program that has already seen a 15% improvement since 2014.

This is the first time the award has been given to a mining company.
