PT Freeport-Indonesia’s Partnership Fund for Community Development (LPMAK) built and donated an entire school building to the town of Kaokanao in Mimika Regency in Papua, Indonesia.

The Partnership Fund collaborated with the Mimika Regency Education and Culture Office in the development of the school building. The school building consists of seven classrooms, a library and a teacher’s lounge.

The Partnership Fund has worked with the Mimika Regency in Papua and local towns for years to support local education by developing school buildings and dormitories, scholarship programs and teacher relocation programs.

All programs are funded by the partnership fund which is entrusted by PT Freeport Indonesia, a Freeport-McMoRan company.
