Over the next four months, the 4,000-mile tour will stop in 25 North American cities, showcasing the economic and environmental benefits of GE’s latest and most advanced energy technology.

A custom-designed, 18-wheel tractor-trailer is loaded with interactive, state-of-the-art exhibits and demonstrations of GE’s FlexEfficiency 60 Portfolio, which was recently unveiled during a global launch event at San Francisco City Hall. As the General Electric Company reported, from San Francisco, the truck’s first two stops are in Sacramento and Calgary, Alberta, Canada, followed by stopovers in cities across the U.S. including Los Angeles, Denver, Houston, Boston, New York and Orlando, Fla., site of the Power-Gen International 2012 trade show. The tour ends in January in Mexico City, Mexico.

Built for 60-hertz countries such as the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Japan, GE’s new FlexEfficiency 60 Portfolio addresses the emerging need for technology capable of providing electricity with record-setting efficiency and operating flexibility. This natural gas-fired technology can rapidly increase its power output in response to fluctuations in wind and solar power, which enables more integration of renewable resources into the power grid.
