Generation of Healthy Families: A Winning Partnership for the Local Communities and Sanofi Colombia
Over 50% of employees at the Villa Rica, Sanofi’s factory in Colombia, live in the nearby town, one of the areas most affected by the armed conflict in Colombia, with attendant social problems such as drugs, prostitution and crime.
In 2014, Sanofi identified 41 employees living in vulnerable conditions. That’s the reason why, in order to develop greater social interaction with the community, the factory has launched the program Generation of Healthy Families.
The first approach focuses on working with the children of the preteens’ school Simon Bolivar of Villa Rica. Videlicet we set up a prevention program for children affected by social problems in their community. The second approach focuses on working with our employees and their families to help improve job performance by improving quality of life.
This program is successful thanks to the different improvements and was rewarded at the internal Sanofi CSR Awards for the People award.
