GM Names New Leaders to Strengthen Global Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, Health and Safety

DETROIT, April 17, 2013 /3BL Media/ – General Motors today named Richard Lubert as executive director, Global Environmental Compliance and Sustainability, effective May 1. The company also appointed Gregg Clark as director, Global and North American Health and Safety.

Lubert will report to Lee.  In this newly-created role, Lubert will lead a common, global approach in environmental compliance, sustainability and health and safety and bolster GM’s relationships with business partners around the world.

Lubert most recently led the global health, safety, environmental, sustainability and security policy operations for General Electric Energy.  His nearly 30 years of cross-functional experience enables a holistic business view that is critical to his new position. 

Clark will report to Lubert. He will build on GM’s benchmark health and safety process and leverage the global team to continue enabling a safe work environment for hourly, salaried and contract employees. 

Clark joins GM from his role as director, global occupational safety and hygiene at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. He has served in key safety positions for many companies and transformed Kimberly Clark to create the benchmark safest work environment for its employees. 

These appointments further demonstrate GM’s commitment to environmental and safety responsibility, building on recent accomplishments, such as recycling or reusing more than 90 percent of its manufacturing waste, operating 105 landfill-free facilities, receiving an EPA ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence award, and reducing workplace injuries 98 percent since 1993.
