GM’s Team of Energy Stars

The hard work and dedication of GM’s energy managers have helped us realize $435 million in energy savings. During the last 20 years, they’ve helped mobilize their teams and, as a result, reduced energy intensity by 40 percent and carbon dioxide emissions by 41 percent at GM’s facilities in the U.S.

An ongoing, long-standing partnership with the U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR program has helped drive this progress.

• GM’s Energy Stars: Tom Quinn, Spring Hill Manufacturing – Tom began to fully appreciate the benefits of energy conservation while serving for two years as a missionary at a rural housing refurbishment project. What started as a calling has now become a very enjoyable career.
• GM’s Energy Stars: Bob Randazzo, Rochester Operations – Bob’s team helped implement a“Shut It Off” program to inform and encourage employees to conserve energy daily and during plant shutdowns.
