GOJO Honored as E3 Award Winner from the Ohio EPA

At GOJO, we incorporate sustainability into everything we do through Sustainable Ways of Working (SWOW℠). SWOW describes our approach to changing the way we think and work. GOJO has long demonstrated this by proactive environmental management, and these efforts were recently recognized by Ohio EPA when the agency honored GOJO for achieving the Gold Level in its Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3) Program.

Ohio EPA’s E3 Program acknowledges Ohio businesses and other organizations for completing environmentally beneficial activities and is an incentive for companies to commit to ongoing environmental stewardship. E3 recognition has three levels, with gold being the highest. To earn all three awards, a business or organization must have an excellent environmental compliance record, exceed regulatory compliance obligations and complete environmental stewardship activities that show a strong commitment to reduce waste, lower emissions and improve environmental performance.

GOJO was previously recognized at the bronze and silver levels in 2012 and 2015 respectively, before earning the gold-level award. To win the gold level, the company’s manufacturing scrap reduction team reduced its line scrap rate from .53 percent to .3 percent from 2013 to 2015, and reduced leaking scrap products by 47 percent.

In June 2016, Ohio EPA Director Craig Butler visited our Lippman Campus to recognize our team for achieving the highest standard of environmental excellence and stewardship. I could tell you more on what we did to receive this honor, but I thought it would be best if I had my fellow team members who played vital roles in us attaining this award share our successes.
