Goods for the Greater Good: Gildan's Partnership With Good360 to Support Those in Need
Since 2018, Gildan and Good360 Australia have partnered to distribute clothing to people in need across the nation. Good360 Australia connects surplus goods of businesses with their network of over 2,000-member charities and eligible schools across the nation to help connect the right goods to the right people at the right time.
Specifically, in 2020, Gildan has supported Good360’s Disaster Recovery Program, providing over 20,000 items, which included, t-shirts, hoodies, and fleeces, to help communities affected by droughts, floods, bushfires, and more recently, those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thanks to Good360’s extensive network, Gildan’s donation was able to find its way to 291 charities and disadvantaged schools across Australia, including The Ted Noffs Foundation, Westmead Hospital Foundation, and Southern Aboriginal Corporation, amongst many others.
“2020 has been a year like no other” said David Hillen, Director of Sales at Gildan. “It is our hope that our donation can provide some comfort to the broader Australian community in need of these goods during their recovery process,” he continued.
Good360 Founder and Managing Director Alison Covington said, “Thanks to Gildan’s valuable donation, we’ve been able to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people across Australia. Being able to give them brand-new Gildan clothing helps provide a sense of equality and dignity. To see the smiles that such a small gesture brings to their faces means the world to our organization.”
