Goodyear Recognized for LGBTQ Equality
Goodyear has been recognized as one of Ohio's top-ranked companies for LGBTQ Equality in the recently released 2020 Corporate Equity Index (CEI) from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) at the World Economic Forum. The index, included as part of HRC's annual report, assesses corporate LGBTQ inclusion policies and practices and an organization's commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Goodyear joined more than 680 other U.S. companies continuing to advance vital and rigorous policies and practices to protect their LGBTQ workers, both at home and abroad.
Goodyear scored 90 out of 100 possible points, maintaining our 2019 score. The average CEI score for all Fortune 500 companies increased from 67 to 71 in the past year -- with actively participating Fortune 500 companies having an average score of 90, up from 88 last year.
The guidelines around the CEI criteria continue to increase and companies need to continually assess and improve their LGBTQ policies and programs to maintain their rating on the Index. This year CEI measured companies in four broad categories:
-
Non-discrimination policies
-
Employment benefits
-
Supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility including public commitment to LGBTQ equality
-
Responsible citizenship
Goodyear is committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment and strives to continually grow and improve our processes and programs.
