The Great Recycle with Honest Tea and Recyclebank

On April 30, Honest Tea® kicked off a national recycling initiative called ”The Great Recycle” in partnership with Recyclebank®, Coca-Cola Live Positively, GrowNYC, Global Inheritance and 5-Boro Green Services. The day-long event featured a 30-foot tall recycling bin in Times Square, with the goal of helping boost recycling rates in New York City and across the country. In just 10 hours, New Yorkers contributed more than 15,000 empty plastic, glass and aluminum beverage containers to the bin for collection. The plastic bottles collected are being recycled into plastic lumber, which GrowNYC will use to build urban gardens for NYC public schools.

Those who couldn’t make the event could still participate. More than 35,000 people took an online pledge at www.TheGreatRecycle.com to recycle more each week and earned Recyclebank points that can be redeemed for discounts and deals from more than hundreds of brands and businesses.
