Iceland is the new global hot spot for green data centres.
Verne Global, a UK-based data centre company, recently opened its new data centre just south of Reykjavik on the site of a former NATO air force base. The state-of-the-art facility is powered by Iceland’s abundant geothermal energy. It will be linked to North American and European customers through high-capacity lines laid down in the Atlantic.
