Over the past few decades, particularly in business, the exploration of sustainability concepts has traditionally been a reaction to undesirable outcomes rather than a positive pursuit of business sustainability value.   The headlines have tended to focus on the negative impacts on society and the environment.  However, positive signs in the market and growing efforts to explore mutual value creation may just transform the sustainability perspective.
