Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, Republic Services Empower Sharswood Community through Neighborhood Clean Up
As part of continued efforts to strengthen the Sharswood community, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia and Republic Services teamed up last Saturday, July 15, for Neighborhood Promise Day. This partnership complements the ongoing revitalization efforts in Sharswood and creates the opportunity to help rebuild, revitalize and restore places and spaces in need.
Fifty volunteers from Republic Services joined Sharswood community members and Habitat staff to tackle a variety of projects to support the neighborhood. Volunteers helped make updates and repairs to the Sharswood Athletic Recreation Center and helped the Habitat staff on home repair projects for residents. Republic Services also provided dumpsters and offered curbside pickup to support general street clean-up and maintenance, as well as helping Sharswood neighbors who wanted to clear items out of their homes.
