Healthy Building Environments Require Training

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) June 15, 2011 - The field of employment that applies to custodial maintenance, janitorial services, or environmental health services has long been without a certified training program.  Now that GREEN has come along and focused our attention on the health impact of cleaning, more and more conversation depends upon applying Green practices.  This will cause more companies to ask the question, “what are the best Green practices, and how can they be applied to custodial services?”

Take a look at the information that is circling the issues of environmental services, and you will find language that makes a person believe that we are in a local high school, the biology class,  or getting ready to assist a health care worker at a hospital or retirement facility.  No longer is the conversation about what type of mop, broom, or widget to use; but more of the focus is on the tasks of the janitorial staff.  We are being asked to complete our tasks with new tools, products, and systems that have never been seen without the benefit of understanding what the true procedure is supposed to be.

For several years the Green Clean Institute has been answering these questions through a series of intellectual courses offered online.  These courses are for any individual, from the basic custodial employee to the business executive, who is willing to learn and understand the reasoning for this push to be GREEN.  How is a person to evaluate and use items properly and programs that they have no understanding of?  So what is GREEN?

Okay, let’s not avoid the writing on the wall.  We all know that this movement is not going away because it is based in the reality that we are not a healthy race, and what we have been doing is going to take some changing.  Are you going to adapt and prosper, or are you going to go kicking and screaming?  We are here to help you, your program, and your business to be proactive and start your journey down the Green Path to Cleaning for Health.

In order to do this, you must first seek out the best solution for your education and training needs.  It has been said that if you learn more, you earn more.  TCK Green out of Rolla, Missouri has utilized these on-line courses and is now conducting Live Training events during the month of July, 2011.  Instructed by a certified instructor and veteran of the industry, these live training sessions will be a day-long presentation of the GCI-Technician courses.  It is highly recommended that any individual who is a provider of custodial building care will participate in these training courses.

You can find more information on these Live Training Events at http://pdfcast.org/profile/tkcgreen, their website www.tkcgreen.com, or contact Dave Thompson dave@tkcgreen.com to set up an event in your area.  Join the hundreds of individuals and business that have already started using these courses to improve their GREEN position.  Whichever path you choose, you have started the journey toward a healthier cleaning service by reading and acting on this information.
