Help Us Support Local Heroes at Your Neighborhood Albertsons, Safeway, Jewel-Osco, and Vons

In honor of Veterans Day, Albertsons Companies would like to express our sincerest gratitude to all who have served our country, both active military as well as veterans. There are nearly 22 million veterans in the U.S.; these brave individuals are our friends, neighbors, relatives, customers, suppliers, and employees. Last year, as an organization we donated more than $1 million to help these service members in our communities.

You can help us support local heroes by making a donation in our Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Safeway, and Vons stores from November 6th - 15th. In-store donations can be made in more than 17 states, including: AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, IA, IL, IN, MD, NE, NM, NV, SD, TX, UT, VA, and WY. Donations help support career training, stress counseling, social activities and rehabilitation programs for veterans in the neighborhoods we serve.

Your donations go to local agencies that help veterans, as well as specialized organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, and Easter Seals to extend the impact within the veteran community. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) aims to honor and empower wounded service members. In addition to in-store campaigns which contribute proceeds to the WWP, the 2015 Believe in Heroes® campaign highlights brands that support the WWP. To help make a difference, stop by your local store and purchase select items from brands that support our heroes. Our support of veterans also extends into our stores and offices. The military personnel who work on our teams inspire us with their excellence and leadership. We have proudly hired more than 5,000 veterans over the past three years. Our team has a hiring process to help match veterans with jobs that require the leadership qualities, technical skills, and field experience they earned throughout their military service. In particular, our Safeway banner has been recognized by MilitaryFriendly.com as one of the Top 100 Military Friendly Employers and Military Friendly Spouse Employers for the past few years. Our supplier diversity program also welcomes service disabled veterans to join our large list of suppliers for both goods and services.
