H&M Conscious Foundation: Make a Difference on UN Day
With the UN Millennium Development goals as a starting point, the H&M Conscious Foundation will support three global development issues in the coming years. Now you have the power to influence, which issues the foundation should support. So take the chance and vote to make a difference on UN day.
The H&M Conscious Foundation took a great leap forward in 2013 with a substantial donation by the Stefan Persson family. Now the foundation will use its resources to support three global development issues.
Today, the H&M Conscious Foundation encourages everyone to visit the website makeadifference.hm.com and help making a difference by voting for which three global issues the foundation should support in the coming years.
“It is our responsibility to make a positive impact in the communities where H&M operates. Now we invite our employees and customers to tell us what they think the H&M Conscious Foundation should support. This will guide us to understand what issues are of concern to a large group of people across the world”, says Karl-Johan Persson, CEO H&M and board member of the H&M Conscious Foundation.
With the UN Millennium Development Goals as a starting point, the H&M Conscious Foundation consulted a group of experts for input and advice on which issues to support. Our experts are all committed to different development issues. At makeadifference.hm.com you can learn more and get inspiration from the experts before placing your own vote.
The prioritized issues are: 1. Clean water, 2. Strengthening women, 3.Safeguarding natural resources, 4. Education, 5. Reduction of poverty through self-empowerment.
Based on the results from the voting process, the H&M Conscious Foundation will support the top-three issues in the coming years. To achieve most impact, the foundation is going to partner with world-renowned charitable organizations. The partnerships are expected to be in place at the beginning of next year. Additionally, the H&M Conscious Foundation will initiate local programs with other organizations related to the three selected issues in countries where H&M operates
