H&M Receives Gold Medal for Sustainability Work
H&M's Blog by Helena Helmersson
I just heard from our German collegues, that H&M has been awarded with the gold medal in the survey Sustainable Retail Company 2011 by the renowned German consumer organisation Verbraucher Initiative. Checking their website you can find that the extensive survey developed by the independent Öko-Institut e.V. covered the topics Business Activities, Supply Chain and Support of Sustainable Consumption based on an analysis of about 350 criteria. The study was supported by the German Ministry for Environment and the German Environmental Agency. Various retailers were included in the survey and 27 of them were awarded for their CSR work. Including H&M, seven companies received the gold medal for very strong engagement in CSR.
